dragonphly
offer a wide range of Web Design services ranging from basic
static sites, to full dynamic content management solutions.
The Web Design process is broken down into five simple steps:
 |
Step 1 - Domain Name and Web Hosting |
| |
The first step in building
a website, is deciding on a domain name e.g. www.yourname.co.uk.
Once the client has decided on a name, the site will need
to have server space so the files (e.g. web pages, images,
scripting etc) can be stored for internet users to view
online. |
|
 |
Step 2 - Planning |
|
| |
Planning is a very important step in creating a successful
online website. This involves liaising with the client,
finding out details such as the scope of the project,
deadlines, website structure, purpose, goals (target audience),
navigation etc... |
|
 |
Step 3 - Design |
|
| |
The design stage is where
we visually implement the colours, style, graphics and
layouts, basically what we discuss in the planning stage.
Once we understand the design specification, we will then
create a design template. It will be posted online for
the client to review. Once the client has reviewed the
design template, we will discuss likes, dislikes, possible
changes, additions, and modifications to the initial design
template.
It is important at this stage to get the design template
to the clients specification, because this will serve
as the style template for the remainder of the site (unless
the client requires further design templates for different
parts of the site). |
|
 |
Step 4 - Website Construction |
| |
The website construction
stage encompasses the merging of your copy and image content
with the approved design template. The pages will be posted
into a directory for the client to view as the pages are
being created.
The site is temporarily off-line until the client has
given the final stamp of approval.
Before we launch the site, we will complete thorough testing
of the site (e.g. check for broken links, spelling, browser
compatibility, page download times etc). |
