Two of the most important areas of consideration in your IT strategy are Servers and Storage. For servers, the commonly asked questions include "what operating system can the Server support?", and "is it powerful enough to provide good service to my users?" For Storage, the commonly asked questions include "will I have enough space for all my data?", and "how do I protect my data?"

In practice, there are several more questions asked for each item of equipment, and of the total requirement. azurri will cover these and other issues in helping you decide on the most cost effective system for your needs, configure and install the system for you. We have chosen to partner with HP and IBM because they each recognise the value of a fully accredited channel resource to provide the close contact with end users, and hence lead to the 'get it right first time' objective.

HP Servers

Having partnered with HP since 1978, azurri has extensive experience in the supply, configuration, installation and maintenance of HP's range of Business Servers:

  • HP3000 (MPE/iX)
Based on HP's PA-RISC architecture, the HP3000 runs under HP's MPE operating system. Although HP no longer make these models, they are still supported and available through azurri.
  • HP ProLiant Servers (Windows, Linux)
Over 10 million Proliants have been installed worldwide, making this range the most popular for Windows, Linux or Netware systems.
  • HP Integrity (HP-UX, Windows, Linux)
Based on the Itanium processor family, this range allows concurrent use of applications running under any permutation of Windows, Linux, HP-UX (UNIX) and OpenVMS operating systems. This makes it the ideal platform for consolidation of server technologies and applications 'under one roof.

Storage

Recently, there has been a proliferation of software and hardware products available to store data, retrieve data, manipulate data and backup data. azurri supplies, installs and supports storage subsystems from HP and IBM, covering:

  • Directly attached Storage - where the disks are attached to a single server system
  • Storage Area Networks (SAN) for Storage shared between several servers
  • Network Attached Storage (NAS) for shared storage with very large amounts of data, generally two terabytes and above.

DG (Data General)

With the demise of the DG Avion range and termination of support later this year, users are faced with the issue of how to protect the business by extending unofficial support, or implementing new application systems. The first route exposes the company to risk, the second to major outlay in money and time to select and implement the new system.

azurri offers you a third way.

We have recruited resource which is well-versed in the migration from DG-UX systems to HP-UX systems. In this way, you can carry on using the applications that have served you well, and also reap the benefits of fully supported and better-performing modern server systems. Please contact us, and we'll help prepare your cost-benefit analysis.
